1. 형용사, 부사의 규칙변화
① 원급 - 비교급(-er) - 최상급(-est) ex) tall-taller-tallest / wise-wiser-wisest

② 3음절 이상일 경우 : 원급 + 비교급(more) + 최상급 (most)
ex) interesting -more interesting- most interesting
difficult -more difficult - most difficult

2. 불규칙 변화
ex) good 「좋은」- better - best , well 「건강한」- better - best
bad 「나쁜」- worse - worst , ill 「병든」 - worse - worst
many 「다수의」 - more - most , much 「다량의」 - more - most
little 「적은」 - less - least

3. 원급, 비교급, 최상급의 용법
① A is as～as B 「A는B 만큼 ～하다」 ex) Tom can run as fast as Jack.
② 비교급 + than 「 ～보다 더～ 」 ex) Jane is taller than Mary.
③ the+최상급+of〔in〕「～중에서 가장～한 」
ex) Health is the most important of all.
= Nothing is so important as health.
= Nothing is more important than health.
④ 비교급의 강조 : much,even,still, far 매우, 훨씬

ex) She is much taller than me.
